Theme for 2020

The 2020 Family Learning Festival theme is Love Learning

Every year we set a theme for the Family Learning Festival. We also suggest activity ideas that you can try for your Festival activities and events.

Parents, carers and families have been dealing with the disruption from Covid-19 including the need to support learning at home whilst schools are partially open or closed. The Family Learning Festival’s theme ‘Love Learning’ addresses the ongoing uncertainties and challenges faced by families and the organisations who support them.

The Love Learning theme has three strands.

Love Learning, Out and About

What are the great things families can do and learn with your organisation and in the community? How can families find longer term support and services that are available? What can they do online as well as offline?

Love Learning at Home

How can families create brilliant, low-cost learning experiences at home? Which free resources can they use? How can families make the most of the digital world? How can they successfully navigate the wealth of online information to find what they need?

Love Learning, Feel Great

How can we support families to be well through learning together? What type of activities can support family wellbeing including healthy eating, being mentally and physically well and being financially resilient?

We will be posting activity ideas for each strand in August.
